The audience was convinced that William Stringer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Logan McMenzies was relentless in the 6th minute of the game. A collision led to Arbroath getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Colin Anderson hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Arbroath's goal looked a bit too open when Walter McCrain came free, but Logan McMenzies reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Logan McMenzies was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kieran Coull during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Henry Cross, 15 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Bruce Ross who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arbroath's Logan McMenzies was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Arbroath's goal looked a bit too open when Walter McCrain came free, but Logan McMenzies reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. William Stringer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Logan McMenzies tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Greig Currie kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Sam Begg's late challenge caught a Arbroath's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sam Begg helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes Lochearnhead United got a freekick which was hit by Sam Begg. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Greg Stark managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arbroath's supporters rose to their feet, but Greg Stark was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ewan Donlevy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lochearnhead United's Ewan Donlevy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Lochearnhead United from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
Ewan Donlevy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neil McCansh in the 51st minute of the match. Logan McMenzies came out of the goal and William Stringer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. William Stringer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Logan McMenzies tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 minutes, Kyle Fisher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arbroath and the Lochearnhead United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Arbroath's Kyle Fisher got a free kick in the 83rd minute. A hard shot 84 in the game by William Stringer from a close distance when the talented Logan McMenzies managed to make a qualified save. Arbroath's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Lochearnhead United's zone, Neil McCansh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ewan Donlevy came out of the goal and Neil McCansh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Greg Stark's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ewan Donlevy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Neil McCansh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Ewan Donlevy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lochearnhead United's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
