Spectators: 6793 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1793, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Murray McCansh got the match started through his kick off. In the 6th minute Jacob Suttie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Drew Tonnochy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gus McQuistan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Charles Boyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, Gus McQuistan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Charles Boyd was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob McOwl in the 18th minute of play forced Dunoon's goalkeeper Charles Boyd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Dunoon's Wally McCaul got a free kick in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the match, Dunoon's goal looked a bit too open when Gus McQuistan came free, but Charles Boyd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stuart Bell kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Kilbirnie:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Dunoon:s goal. Drew Tonnochy went to the wrong direction when Marcus Park was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Bob McOwl managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kilbirnie's supporters rose to their feet, but Bob McOwl was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Boyd breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcus Park charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Park the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 33rd minute, one of Dunoon:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dunoon. Simon Colville placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Gus McQuistan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 40 minutes, Murray McCansh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dunoon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murray McCansh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After having played for 47 minutes, Jacob Suttie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

If Bob McOwl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bob McOwl struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Jacob Sutties short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Drew Tonnochy to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Charles Boyd showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bob McOwl, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin McQuisten in the 72nd minute of play forced Dunoon's goalkeeper Charles Boyd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Jacob Suttie managed to get in a good position for a shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Murray McCansh in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Drew Tonnochy saved Kilbirnie from getting behind. Bob McOwl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Charles Boyd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute of the match Simon Colville shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Charles Boyd showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Murray McCansh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Gus McQuistan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kilbirnie walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
