Spectators: 7713 (Terracing: 5786, Seating: 1774, VIP seats: 153) Kilbirnie's Bob McOwl started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rdth minute of the game Gus McQuistan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AC Glasgow Football's Frank Alderson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gus McQuistan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Graeme Crossley fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kilbirnie's protests and gave Graeme Crossley a yellow card for diving instead. Graeme Crossley kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, AC Glasgow Football's goal looked a bit too open when Bob McOwl came free, but Frank Alderson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Alderson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gus McQuistan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th match minute, Kilbirnie was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Graeme Crossley to maneuver through the defense. Oliver Simson hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Bob McOwl shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Alderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anthony Porter recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Drew Tonnochy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliver Simson in the 28th minute. Kilbirnie's Drew Tonnochy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Kilbirnie from getting a goal against them. In the 31st match minute, AC Glasgow Football was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Riach to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bob McOwl in the 34th minute of play forced AC Glasgow Football's goalkeeper Frank Alderson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to AC Glasgow Football getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. James Dunlop hit a great ball. AC Glasgow Football's Frank Alderson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bob McOwl in the 38th minute of play. Drew Tonnochy didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 39th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. 47 minutes into the game, Kevin McQuisten was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilbirnie's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AC Glasgow Football the free kick. A collision led to Kilbirnie getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Kevin McQuisten hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oliver Simson was the one to do the kick off. Simon Colville made a great header on Kilbirnie's corner, it was just that AC Glasgow Football's Frank Alderson managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to AC Glasgow Football getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Jeremy McPhorich hit a great ball. Simon Colville, 62 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Gus McQuistan's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 68thth minute, Frank Alderson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliver Simson in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Drew Tonnochy saved Kilbirnie from getting behind. Bob McOwl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gus McQuistan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in AC Glasgow Football's zone, Gus McQuistan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Frank Alderson came out of the goal and Gus McQuistan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Kilbirnie could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AC Glasgow Football throughout the match.
