Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Mauchline's Ivan Grewar started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthony Limond in the 8th minute of play forced Mauchline's goalkeeper Edward Archibald to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Angus Swanson hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Brandon Cameron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edward Archibald was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Edward Archibald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Limond in the 13th minute of play. Anthony Limond received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Edward Archibald tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sunderland's Nick McVey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Sunderland from getting a goal against them. When Anthony Limond came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Sunderland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anthony Limond couldn't finish the play. Edward Archibald took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anthony Limond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anthony Limond scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edward Archibald, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edward Archibald didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Sunderland's Anthony Limond shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-2 in the ordered_time% minute. Angus Swanson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Angus Swanson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nick McVey. Angus Swanson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Nicky McKindlay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nick McVey having to interfere. After the first half Sunderland were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anthony Limond made a kick off. A collision led to Sunderland getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Jack Millar hit a great ball. Ivan Grewar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 57th match minute, Sunderland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jack Millar to maneuver through the defense. Edward Archibald made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Brandon Cameron sent off a good shot on target. Angus Swanson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nick McVey having to interfere. Ivan Grewar hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Edward Cumming took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Edward Archibald. Mauchline's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sunderland's goalkeeper Nick McVey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mauchline's Angus Swanson got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, Mauchline's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Limond came free, but Edward Archibald reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Angus Swanson came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Mauchline fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angus Swanson couldn't finish the play. If Samuel Low had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthony Limond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chants of Sunderland echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Mauchline had held the ball for most of the match.
