Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Callum Morris made the kick off which started today's match. The Westhill fans' excitement grew in the 2nd match minute when Westhill's Shaun Foulis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gregor Armstrong charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gregor Armstrong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Kelty's Gregor Armstrong got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 11th match minute, Kelty was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dougal Cross to maneuver through the defense. In the 12thth minute of the game Andrew Paul who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kelty's Alexander Lindsay was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 13th minute of the match Westhill got a corner. Kelty's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Freddie McRobie ran over to the corner to take the kick. Alexander Lindsay stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shaun Foulis's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Westhill's goal looked a bit too open when Callum Morris came free, but Nicholas McVail reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dougal Cross fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas McVail having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gregor Armstrong got free with Nicholas McVail in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 30 minutes into the game, Callum Morris was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kelty's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Westhill the free kick. In the 31st minute of the match Freddie McRobie sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexander Lindsay skillfully saved the ball. In the 34th minute, Shaun Foulis made a precise shot to the right of Alexander Lindsay. Kelty's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dean Lenny in the 39th minute of play forced Kelty's goalkeeper Alexander Lindsay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dougal Cross's late challenge caught a Westhill's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dougal Cross helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Kelty getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Dougal Cross hit a great ball. Graeme McRaith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Alexander Lindsay tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shaun Foulis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Lindsay having to interfere. After the first half Westhill were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a little luck, Kelty's Alexander Lindsay got control of the ball when Shaun Foulis tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Eddie Finlayson fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Westhill's protests and gave Eddie Finlayson a yellow card for diving instead. After 69 played minutes Kelty got a freekick which was hit by Gregor Armstrong. Larry Findlay kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Gregor Armstrong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicholas McVail saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicholas McVail showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gregor Armstrong, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 93rd minute, Robert Towart hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
