With his leg Lewis Charles managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Falkirk's Archie Neish fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Acharacle CITY AFC's goalkeeper Lewis Charles, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Acharacle CITY AFC's goalkeeper Lewis Charles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Archie Neish. In the 30th minute Freddie Gillon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lewis Charles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lewis Charles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddie Gillon, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Archie Neish could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Lewis Charles made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddie Gillon in the 37th minute of play forced Acharacle CITY AFC's goalkeeper Lewis Charles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Freddie Gillon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lewis Charles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddie Gillon in the 40th minute of play. If Archie Neish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Archie Neish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kyle McLaren to make the kick off. Lewis Charles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Freddie Gillon in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute, Archie Neish got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Falkirk's Freddie Gillon got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Freddie Gillon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Freddie Gillon put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Lewis Charles. Freddie Gillon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lewis Charles having to make a save. Lewis Charles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddie Gillon in the 68th minute of play. If Archie Neish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddie Gillon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Freddie Gillon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Lewis Charles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Ricky Simson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Falkirk fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Lewis Charles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Archie Neish's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. Freddie Gillon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Falkirk had played much better football throughout.
