Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Larry Goddard took the kick off in the first half of the match. 3 minutes into the match, Keith Keene had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Will McKeggie. Orkney FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Keith Keene was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Robin Malcolmson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will McKeggie having to interfere. Will McKeggie came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by BLUE SCORPIONS AFC's Robin Malcolmson. But to his dismay, Robin Malcolmson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Munro Ashmore came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the BLUE SCORPIONS AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Munro Ashmore couldn't finish the play. After 14 played minutes Orkney FC got a freekick which was hit by Larry Goddard. BLUE SCORPIONS AFC's Robin Malcolmson got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Will McKeggie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robin Malcolmson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Munro Ashmore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will McKeggie having to interfere. In the 24th minute Robin Malcolmson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Will McKeggie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Will McKeggie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Robin Malcolmson in the 26th minute of play. Orkney FC's Will McKeggie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keith Keene in the 29th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Larry Goddard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When BLUE SCORPIONS AFC's Robin Malcolmson in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Orkney FC's goalie prevented a goal. Will McKeggie didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alisdair McConnechy went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Orkney FC's zone, Munro Ashmore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Will McKeggie came out of the goal and Munro Ashmore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Will McKeggie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robin Malcolmson in the 46th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robin Malcolmson to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robin Malcolmson in the 51st minute of play forced Orkney FC's goalkeeper Will McKeggie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Will McKeggie made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Munro Ashmore sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th match minute, Orkney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Larry Goddard to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Terry Garrow hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Munro Ashmore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will McKeggie having to interfere. Will McKeggie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robin Malcolmson, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Munro Ashmore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robin Malcolmson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will McKeggie having to interfere. Will McKeggie made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Munro Ashmore sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Robin Malcolmson in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Will McKeggie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 84 minutes, Munro Ashmore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BLUE SCORPIONS AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Munro Ashmore was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Munro Ashmore's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Will McKeggie firmly grabbed it by the left post. BLUE SCORPIONS AFC played a much better game than Orkney FC and deserved their victory. The Orkney FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
