After a defensive mix-up in Orkney FC's zone, Derek Greusach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Will McKeggie came out of the goal and Derek Greusach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jordan McFater could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Will McKeggie made a huge save. Will McKeggie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricky McCaishe in the 19th minute. Will McKeggie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricky McCaishe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Grant McRuer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Will McKeggie read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. Jordan McFater scored 2-0 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Will McKeggie, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Terry Garrow fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Orkney FC's protests and gave Terry Garrow a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Orkney FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 31st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 33 minutes, Borussia Coldside's Ryan Buntine got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Will McKeggie. Larry Goddard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ryan Forrister having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Larry Goddard stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Borussia Coldside booed when Orkney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Larry Goddard didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Shaun Wright hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Derek Greusach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Will McKeggie having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Derek Greusach ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Will McKeggie was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-0. Orkney FC's Will McKeggie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Derek Greusach in the 79th minute of play. Jordan McFater received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Will McKeggie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Ricky McCaishe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Borussia Coldside fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Henry Black charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henry Black the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 93rd match minute, Orkney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Black to maneuver through the defense. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Borussia Coldside fully deserved thier win.
