Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shane Broom started the match with the kick off. When William Mavor fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ross county FC's protests and gave William Mavor a yellow card for diving instead. In the 11th minute, William Mavor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. celtic fc's Eddie Roy couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 11th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ross county FC. Brian Knox made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Elliot Yuille sent off a good shot on target. After 19 minutes of play Ross county FC's William Mavor was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. William Mavor hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ross county FC's zone, Shane Broom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Knox came out of the goal and Shane Broom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Ross county FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Tony Abbotson hit a great ball. Elliot Yuille recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brian Knox stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Shane Broom's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Elliot Yuille cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Brian Knox was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Scott McConnechy hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Shane Broom was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. celtic fc's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Elliot Yuille put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Brian Knox. After a rather tough play, Ross county FC's Jay Connell got a free kick in the 37th minute. Elliot Yuille recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute Shane Broom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Knox saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. celtic fc's Shane Broom got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shane Broom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Knox having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andy Buntain was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ross county FC's goalkeeper Brian Knox, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elliot Yuille sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Shane Broom had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Brian Knox took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elliot Yuille, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brian Knox showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elliot Yuille in the 67th minute of the match. A collision led to Ross county FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Tony Abbotson hit a great ball. Shane Broom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shane Broom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Brian Knox tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brian Knox made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elliot Yuille in the 75th minute of play. Ross county FC's Brian Knox played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shane Broom in the 81st minute of play. Elliot Yuille sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th minute Elliot Kerracher suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 90 minutes, Tony Abbotson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ross county FC and the celtic fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ross county FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Tony Abbotson hit a great ball. Eddie Roy was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 91st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. celtic fc's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
