Liam McNey kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After having played for 10 minutes, Duncan McPhedron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colintraive's supporters crossed their fingers, but Duncan McPhedron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Colintraive's Willie McVeagh got control of the ball when Finlay Boyle tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kieran Lewis in the 15th minute of play forced Gordon United's goalkeeper Duncan Findlater to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 16 minutes of play, Gordon United's Finlay Boyle made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Willie McVeagh was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet as Finlay Boyle kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Willie McVeagh. That made the score 2-0 in the 19 minute of play. Willie McVeagh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terence Ferguson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 27 minutes, Duncan McPhedron managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colintraive's supporters crossed their fingers, but Duncan McPhedron was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 31st minute Duncan McPhedron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duncan Findlater saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Finlay Boyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willie McVeagh having to interfere. Terence Ferguson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Terence Ferguson came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Gordon United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Terence Ferguson couldn't finish the play. Terence Ferguson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Willie McVeagh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Finlay Boyle hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Terence Ferguson in the 60th minute of play forced Colintraive's goalkeeper Willie McVeagh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Terence Ferguson struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Willie McVeagh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gordon United. Duncan McPhedron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kieran Lewis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Findlater having to interfere. When Michael McNaughton fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gordon United's protests and gave Michael McNaughton a yellow card for diving instead. Gordon United's Duncan Findlater proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Gordon United from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Gordon United's Gareth McAlister got a free kick in the 79th minute. After 80 played minutes Gordon United got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth McKinnon. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kieran Lewis got free with Duncan Findlater in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Duncan McPhedron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th match minute, Colintraive was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kieran Lewis to maneuver through the defense. If Kieran Lewis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Gordon United fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colintraive had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
