Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Paul Coulson started the match with the kick off. When Steve Adair fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dunbeath FC's protests and gave Steve Adair a yellow card for diving instead. In the 3rd minute, one of Dunbeath FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Dunbeath FC. Alan Kennethson had in the 5thth minute some difficulties stopping Nicky Polson's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Nicky Polson notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Dunbeath FC's Alan Kennethson. Alan Kennethson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nicol McKilligan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raymond Rusk in the 9th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paul Coulson in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicol McKilligan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Guy Scott might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alan Kennethson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guy Scott ran back to his position shaking his head. Charlie Ronaldson charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charlie Ronaldson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 17th minute, Charlie Ronaldson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Dunbeath FC's zone, Guy Scott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alan Kennethson came out of the goal and Guy Scott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matthew Gregory's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 25thth minute, Alan Kennethson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Alan Kennethson was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Matthew Gregory capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Matthew Gregory really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Nicol McKilligan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raymond Rusk in the 30th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Paul Coulson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicol McKilligan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anthony Innie charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anthony Innie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 38th minute, Anthony Innie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Raymond Rusk came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Dunbeath FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raymond Rusk couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Matthew Gregory was the one to do the kick off. Dunbeath FC's Alan Kennethson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthew Gregory in the 53rd minute of play. If Matthew Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Wishaw's Matthew Gregory got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Wishaw's Charlie Ronaldson got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Paul Coulson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paul Coulson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicol McKilligan having to interfere. Guy Scott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Alan Kennethson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Matthew Gregory had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wishaw's Guy Scott got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Dunbeath FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Kieran Edie hit a great ball. Guy Scott recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Anthony Innie's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alan Kennethson was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Guy Scott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timothy McHardie's late challenge caught a Wishaw's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Timothy McHardie helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Timothy McHardie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 98 minutes Dunbeath FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nicky Polson who took care of the corner kick.
