Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Declan Gallie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Raymond Lonie managed to get in a good position for a shot. Iona's supporters rose to their feet, but Raymond Lonie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chris Mark breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. William McAlduie kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th match minute, Highland Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Cunningham to maneuver through the defense. Alan Cunningham hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Richard Frizell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hugh McCosram's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. The supporters of Iona booed when Highland Warriors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. William McAlduie didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Hamish Murdoson notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Highland Warriors's Chris Mark. Chris Mark was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Iona's zone, Declan Gallie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Richard Frizell came out of the goal and Declan Gallie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hamish Murdoson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Declan Gallie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Frizell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patrick McPheidiran tried in the game's 54th match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy Richard Frizell. An annoying self made goal, 2-1. Declan Gallie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Richard Frizell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 played minutes Iona got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Lonie. In the 65th match minute, Highland Warriors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh McCosram to maneuver through the defense. After 72 played minutes Highland Warriors got a freekick which was hit by Declan Gallie. With a little luck, Iona's Richard Frizell got control of the ball when Declan Gallie tried to sneak it across the goal line. Declan Gallie struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Richard Frizell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Highland Warriors. If Hugh McCosram had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Highland Warriors's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Declan Gallie in the 87th minute. Highland Warriors's Declan Gallie was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Richard Frizell in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Declan Gallie was shown his second yellow card after 90 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 97th minute, Hugh McCosram got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
