Spectators: 10823 (Terracing: 8118, Seating: 2489, VIP seats: 216) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Paddy McNeish started the match with the kick off. Keith Scotland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jamie Federith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 4 minutes had been played when some careless play by Floodish FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tony McConnell was slow to take the kick. During this time Alloa Golden Blades's players had a chance to rest. In the 9th minute Paddy McNeish shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Rameriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Graeme Sharp reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Keith Scotland. The goal made the score 1-0. Graeme Sharp hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute Johnny Davie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Rameriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Graeme Sharp took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Keith Scotland to make any attempt to save it. 19 minutes into the match, Alloa Golden Blades's goal looked a bit too open when Sam Fletcher came free, but Leopoldo Rameriz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Graeme Sharp in the 21st minute of play forced Floodish FC's goalkeeper Keith Scotland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Floodish FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jamie Federith came free, but Keith Scotland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bobby Collins could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Keith Scotland made a huge save. If Jamie Federith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Blair McClure took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leopoldo Rameriz. Leopoldo Rameriz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Keith Scotland successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 41st minute, Graeme Sharp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Keith Scotland was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 47th minute, Johnny Davie ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leopoldo Rameriz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Graeme Sharp to make the kick off. Leopoldo Rameriz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Johnny Davie in the 52nd minute. After a rather tough play, Floodish FC's Paddy McNeish got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 65th minute Jamie Federith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keith Scotland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jamie Federith might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Keith Scotland. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jamie Federith ran back to his position shaking his head. Paddy McNeish scored 3-4 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leopoldo Rameriz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Paddy McNeish received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leopoldo Rameriz came out and tried to block the shot, but Paddy McNeish slotted it home off the left post making it 3-5 in the 76th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paddy McNeish in the 79th minute of play forced Alloa Golden Blades's goalkeeper Leopoldo Rameriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st match minute, Floodish FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Gardner to maneuver through the defense. Leopoldo Rameriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Theo McNeish, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 played minutes Alloa Golden Blades got a freekick which was hit by Fernan Lleir. Alloa Golden Blades's Matthew McGillonie was substituted for Tony McConnell. In the 94th minute of the match Jake Enrick sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Leopoldo Rameriz skillfully saved the ball. Johnny Davie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Floodish FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
