Sport Lisboa e Olivais's André Luz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Lisboa e Olivais from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Lisboa e Olivais's zone, Albérico Torres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luz came out of the goal and Albérico Torres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 11 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Olivais's goalkeeper André Luz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albérico Torres. Luciano Iruinea struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. João Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Lisboa e Olivais. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Bessa in the 29th minute of play forced SC Cortikona's goalkeeper João Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes Sport Lisboa e Olivais got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Maia. André Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from António Telinhos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The SC Cortikona players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sport Lisboa e Olivais were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Palmeira was the one to do the kick off. Fernando Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. João Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Luz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Albérico Torres went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. João Moura stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Bessa's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by SC Cortikona's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Alexandre Coelho was slow to take the kick. During this time Sport Lisboa e Olivais's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Alexandre Coelho almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but SC Cortikona's João Moura did a great save. João Moura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernando Bessa in the 77th minute of the match. When Fernando Bessa came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Sport Lisboa e Olivais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Bessa couldn't finish the play. Sebastião Fernandes scored 2-4 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Moura, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sport Lisboa e Olivais's David Setúbal was substituted for Fernando Bessa. Sport Lisboa e Olivais's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
