With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeu Sarmento in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nuno Coelho saved Ganza F.C. from getting behind. Raul Amaral struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Luís Moutinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ganza F.C.. With a little luck, Ganza F.C.'s Nuno Coelho got control of the ball when Diogo Pinho tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diogo Pinho got free with Nuno Coelho in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 14 minutes into the match, Ganza F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Trindade came free, but Nuno Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nuno Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amadeu Sarmento in the 16th minute of the match. Nuno Coelho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Diogo Pinho in the 17th minute. In the 20th minute Manuel Trindade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Diogo Pinho succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 22nd playminute. Luís Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Uldis Venckuss, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. When Raul Amaral came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Ganza F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raul Amaral couldn't finish the play. 30 minutes into the game, CLUBE DO RIO F.C's Amadeu Sarmento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nuno Coelho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Nuno Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Trindade in the 33rd minute of play. In the 34th minute Manuel Trindade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Afonso Anjos's late challenge caught a Ganza F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Anjos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th minute, Afonso Anjos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 48th minute, Diogo Pinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CLUBE DO RIO F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amadeu Sarmento to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Trindade in the 54th minute of play forced Ganza F.C.'s goalkeeper Nuno Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luís Moutinho made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Raul Amaral sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Ganza F.C.'s zone, Amadeu Sarmento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nuno Coelho came out of the goal and Amadeu Sarmento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 77th minute Manuel Trindade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nuno Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the game, CLUBE DO RIO F.C's Manuel Porto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Uldis Venckuss fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Moutinho having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ganza F.C. players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for CLUBE DO RIO F.C.
