After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Paulo Alves managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.D.Boavista's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Alves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Borba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 25thth minute of the game Paulo Alves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Barcelos's Manuel Borba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Manuel Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Alves in the 28th minute of play. Cristiano Porto hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When C.D.Boavista's Paulo Alves in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Alves made a kick off. C.D.Boavista's attentive José Brás managed to snatch the ball when Marco Monteiro made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. Paulo Alvess short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Manuel Borba to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Dominik Dropinski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Aguiar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristiano Porto went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. SC Barcelos's Mário Macedo was substituted for Viriato Antunes. Marco Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Monteiro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Bento Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristiano Porto struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Pedro Aguiar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Barcelos. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paulo Alves got free with Manuel Borba in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SC Barcelos's Manuel Borba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save SC Barcelos from getting a goal against them. Paulo Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Manuel Borba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bruno Faro fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Barcelos's protests and gave Bruno Faro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 92nd minute, Bruno Faro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Barcelos's Manuel Borba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save SC Barcelos from getting a goal against them. In the 96th minute, C.D.Boavista's Cristiano Branco seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Cristiano Branco the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of C.D.Boavista protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Cristiano Branco had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The SC Barcelos support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
