In the 21st minute Angelo Ferro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolau Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolau Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abílio Quaresma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, SC Moliana's Nicolau Borges got control of the ball when Octávio Rebelo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 26 played minutes SC Moliana got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Lobo. The long shot by Fabrício Loureiro in the 34th minute really tested Nicolau Borges's skills. SC Moliana's supporters rose to their feet, but Amável Diegues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caetano Bessa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Angelo Ferro to make the kick off. Wilson Alves struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Caetano Bessa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Moliana. Gil Quaresma kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Aldo Anjos charged in rather forcefully in the 66th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aldo Anjos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The SC Castanhal fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when SC Castanhal's Octávio Rebelo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Caetano Bessa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Amável Diegues, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 90 minutes into the match, SC Moliana's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Ferro came free, but Nicolau Borges reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Alves's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caetano Bessa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. The supporters of SC Castanhal booed when SC Moliana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nivaldo Balsemão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Angelo Ferro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
