Spectators: 7749 (Terracing: 5813, Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 154) D João I's Diego Severo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Sidónio Calheiros came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by D João I's Isidoro Linhares. But to his dismay, Isidoro Linhares quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 14th minute, Isidoro Linhares left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The D João I fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. In the 21st minute Valentim Aleixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Teixeira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Santiago Maia charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santiago Maia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Santiago Maia hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. 28 minutes into the game, D João I's Diego Severo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sidónio Calheiros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Santiago Maia took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Renato Teixeira. Renato Teixeira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Isidoro Linhares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, D João I's goal looked a bit too open when Valentim Aleixo came free, but Renato Teixeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamilton Faria's late challenge caught a D João I's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hamilton Faria helped the player get up and apologised. Hamilton Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Sidónio Calheiros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Linhares in the 43rd minute of the match. Sidónio Calheiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Linhares, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Diego Severo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidónio Calheiros having to interfere. The Red FOX United players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. D João I were winning 1-4.

When Hamilton Faria was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 55 minutes had been played. Hamilton Faria hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Renato Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Rodolfo Tomé hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Red FOX United's zone, Isidoro Linhares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidónio Calheiros came out of the goal and Isidoro Linhares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Sebastião Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Red FOX United's Sidónio Calheiros got control of the ball when Sebastião Torres tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Diego Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot. D João I's supporters rose to their feet, but Diego Severo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sidónio Calheiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diego Severo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sidónio Calheiros read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. If Isidoro Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diego Severo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 84th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Isidoro Linhares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sidónio Calheiros came out and tried to block the shot, but Isidoro Linhares slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 88th minute. Diego Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Isidoro Linhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sidónio Calheiros having to make a save. D João I played a much better game than Red FOX United and deserved their victory. The Red FOX United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
