After some careless play in the SC Castanhal defense, Israel Brites kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Caetano Bessa. The SC Castanhal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Caetano Bessa should have stopped the shot. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelo Ferro was the one to do the kick off. 57 minutes into the match, ACR Comeira's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Ferro came free, but Rubim Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Octávio Rebelo in the 59th minute of play forced ACR Comeira's goalkeeper Rubim Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Israel Brites's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caetano Bessa was relentless in the 102nd minute of the game. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
