In a very dangerous position, a player in SC Lazaro fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 11th minute. Penalty! In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Lazaro's goalkeeper Mariano Leite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Chão Duro FC booed when SC Lazaro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viriato Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Leite having to interfere. SC Lazaro's Mariano Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angelo Borba in the 32nd minute of play. Rodolfo Castilho made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Jorge Lisboa sent off a good shot on target. Mariano Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Martins in the 42nd minute of play forced SC Lazaro's goalkeeper Mariano Leite to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Machado took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodolfo Castilho. Rodolfo Castilho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alcides Saraiva made a kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Chão Duro FC's Edgar Martins made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariano Leite was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 57th minute, Bruno Machado made a precise shot to the right of Rodolfo Castilho. Chão Duro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. If Bruno Machado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sidónio Marques charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After 66 played minutes, SC Lazaro's Sandro Carvalho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rodolfo Castilho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Lazaro reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Chão Duro FC's zone, Bruno Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Castilho came out of the goal and Bruno Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes into the match, SC Lazaro's goalkeeper Mariano Leite had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgar Martins. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chão Duro FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
