Rogério Sá came out of the goal and Samuel Marinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 15th match minute, VALE DO PESO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Palmiro Lencastre to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, VALE DO PESO FC's Caetano Santiago got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the game, one of VALE DO PESO FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 25th minute, Honorato Campos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Terceira e Benfica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Rogério Sá showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Leite in the 58th minute of the match. With a little luck, VALE DO PESO FC's Rogério Sá got control of the ball when Palmiro Cortez tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jerónimo Monteiro during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. VALE DO PESO FC were furious when Mariano Quaresma was red carded, 86 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 88th minute there was a penalty for Sport Terceira e Benfica. Honorato Campos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Rogério Sá. 3-4. A collision led to VALE DO PESO FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Palmiro Lencastre hit a great ball. The VALE DO PESO FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sport Terceira e Benfica were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
