A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, VALE DO PESO FC's goalkeeper Rogério Sá had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Palmiro Cortez. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Hermínio Sobral managed to get in a good position for a shot. VALE DO PESO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hermínio Sobral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a rather tough play, VALE DO PESO FC's Mariano Quaresma got a free kick in the 74th minute. A collision led to VALE DO PESO FC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Mariano Quaresma hit a great ball. Honorato Campos blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rogério Sá having to make a save. Rogério Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Palmiro Cortez, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Rafael Leite's late challenge caught a VALE DO PESO FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rafael Leite helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of VALE DO PESO FC booed when Sport Terceira e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Leite didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Sá was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
