Spectators: 6883 (Terracing: 5833, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when John Wayne took the kick off in the first half of the match. Pedro Reis lost his temper 5 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 5 minutes into the game, one of FZZ Sport Club:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Jorge Esteves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Andaka Babalov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Star Monção's supporters rose to their feet, but Andaka Babalov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Esteves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 20 minutes into the match, FZZ Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when John Wayne came free, but Jorge Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, FZZ Sport Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Rangel to maneuver through the defense. When Luís Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Red Star Monção fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Oliveira couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the match, Luís Oliveira notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of FZZ Sport Club's Jorge Esteves. Jorge Esteves was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jorge Esteves came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Red Star Monção's John Wayne. But to his dismay, John Wayne quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Jorge Esteves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Lameiras in the 45th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cássio Rijo was the one to do the kick off. FZZ Sport Club's Domingos Rangel got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Oliveira in the 61st minute of play forced FZZ Sport Club's goalkeeper Jorge Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Newman hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Jorge Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andaka Babalov, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Luís Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Jorge Esteves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute Luís Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If André França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cássio Rijo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Rangel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Octávio Valadão, 85 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Red Star Monção getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. André França hit a great ball. Cássio Rijo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Alvarenga having to interfere. The Red Star Monção supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Red Star Monção would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
