Fertus Orbiz came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by João Próspero Remax's João Meireles. But to his dismay, João Meireles quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 40th minute, Mariusz Orszak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, CARREGA FC's Elias Gouveia ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Normando Cabral. Normando Cabral yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cândido Mourinho was the one to do the kick off.
