The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes SC Tornado got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Belo. 3 minutes into the game Porfírio Chagas kicked a great long shot which passed Vítor Travassos straight ahead into the goal, Result 1-0. One couldn't see Porfírio Chagas behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him. Tomé Soveral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vivaldo Barros in the 16th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiago Domingues in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vítor Travassos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to SC Tornado getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Basílio Lima hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the match, BENFICA UNITED's goal looked a bit too open when Vivaldo Barros came free, but Tomé Soveral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Tiago Domingues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vítor Travassos was relentless in the 27th minute of the game.
