Elias Caldas started the match with the kick off. Timóteo Fontoura scored 0-1 in the 2nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 5 minutes into the match, Nuno Moutinho notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of G.D.R. Canaviais's Marcelo Santos. Marcelo Santos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matias Aleixo scored 0-3 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Santos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 17 minutes into the match, G.D.R. Canaviais's goal looked a bit too open when Matias Aleixo came free, but Marcelo Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelo Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juliano Pinhal, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Marcelo Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juliano Pinhal in the 24th minute of play. G.D.R. Canaviais's Marcelo Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Moutinho in the 26th minute of play. The supporters of G.D.R. Canaviais booed when Balas F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathijs De Ligt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Caldas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elias Caldas got free with Isidro Madureira in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Balas F.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Laureano Vaz was slow to take the kick. During this time G.D.R. Canaviais's players had a chance to rest. The corner led G.D.R. Canaviais's Laureano Vaz to fire away a dangerous shot which Isidro Madureira despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Marcelo Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matias Aleixo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Santos came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Balas F.C.'s Krasimir Balakov. But to his dismay, Krasimir Balakov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Timóteo Fontoura blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcelo Santos having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Matias Aleixo in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcelo Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Arruda during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 played minutes G.D.R. Canaviais got a freekick which was hit by Egídio Arruda. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matias Aleixo in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Santos saved G.D.R. Canaviais from getting behind. G.D.R. Canaviais's Laureano Vaz suffered a sore thigh after 43 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 43 minutes, Juliano Pinhal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Balas F.C. and the G.D.R. Canaviais players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Balas F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juliano Pinhal to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of G.D.R. Canaviais booed when Balas F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matias Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Matias Aleixo took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Marcelo Santos to make any attempt to save it. Marcelo Santos came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Balas F.C.'s Matias Aleixo. But to his dismay, Matias Aleixo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Balas F.C. made a substitution. Óscar Quintela replaced Timóteo Fontoura. Balas F.C.'s Angel Cordarrel was substituted for Nuno Moutinho. If Matias Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angel Cordarrel got free with Marcelo Santos in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpected shot in the 69th minute by Matias Aleixo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Marcelo Santos made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Matias Aleixo sent off a good shot on target. Marcelo Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juliano Pinhal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Luuk Bense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matias Aleixo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Marcelo Santos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 78 minutes into the match, Angel Cordarrel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelo Santos. G.D.R. Canaviais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angel Cordarrel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind G.D.R. Canaviais's goalkeeper Marcelo Santos, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcelo Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Aleixo in the 82nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Matias Aleixo put it in 0-10 from a short distance just to the right of Marcelo Santos. G.D.R. Canaviais's Marcelo Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save G.D.R. Canaviais from getting a goal against them. In the 95th minute, Krasimir Balakov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Balas F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-11. Balas F.C.'s players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
