G.D.R. Canaviais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bajouca FC the free kick. In the 2nd match minute, G.D.R. Canaviais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Benevides to maneuver through the defense. Delfim Saldanha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 3rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcelo Santos. G.D.R. Canaviais's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Honorato Benevides was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 7 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute, one of G.D.R. Canaviais:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for G.D.R. Canaviais. Delfim Saldanha shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After 11 played minutes Bajouca FC got a freekick which was hit by Baltasar Valido. If Delfim Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Saldanha in the 17th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Delfim Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Benedito Sobral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcelo Santos. G.D.R. Canaviais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benedito Sobral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 36th match minute, G.D.R. Canaviais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elias Caldas to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute Delfim Saldanha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Quental in the 48th minute of play forced G.D.R. Canaviais's goalkeeper Marcelo Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Delfim Saldanha stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubim Abrantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. With a little luck, G.D.R. Canaviais's Marcelo Santos got control of the ball when Carlos Quental tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Egídio Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcelo Santos made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Carlos Quental sent off a good shot on target. Valério Travassos came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by G.D.R. Canaviais's Luuk Bense. But to his dismay, Luuk Bense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Egídio Arruda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Valério Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luuk Bense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério Travassos having to interfere. Carlos Quental received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Marcelo Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Bajouca FC's Baltasar Valido got a free kick in the 75th minute. Marcelo Santos made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Carlos Quental sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Egídio Arruda during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 84th minute, Timóteo Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlos Quental sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 88th minute Rubim Abrantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 89 minutes of play, G.D.R. Canaviais's Luuk Bense made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Valério Travassos was left in no man's land by his defense there! G.D.R. Canaviais's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
