The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ivo Moutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Portugal in the 3rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Augusto Portugal put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ivo Moutinho. Amarante FC's Ivo Moutinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Augusto Portugal in the 11th minute of play. Lusos Crew's Augusto Portugal managed to work through Amarante FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Augusto Portugal dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Nuno Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Ivo Moutinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Estevão Padilha in the 15th minute of the match. Ivo Moutinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabiano de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Rodrigo Lemos hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 27 minutes into the match, Lusos Crew's goalkeeper Marco Bülow had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Albertino Gama. Ivo Moutinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Estevão Padilha in the 29th minute of play. Augusto Portugal kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. If Augusto Portugal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lilko Albachki to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Lusos Crew's goal looked a bit too open when Albertino Gama came free, but Marco Bülow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Lilko Albachki left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Amarante FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 56 played minutes Lusos Crew got a freekick which was hit by Reginaldo Fiúza. The supporters of Lusos Crew booed when Amarante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Augusto Portugal took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivo Moutinho. Ivo Moutinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 79th minute, Augusto Portugal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Moutinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reginaldo Moutinho got free with Ivo Moutinho in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Amarante FC's Ivo Moutinho got control of the ball when Estevão Padilha tried to sneak it across the goal line. 90 minutes into the match, Lusos Crew's goal looked a bit too open when Lilko Albachki came free, but Marco Bülow reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Filipe Belém during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Lusos Crew getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Filipe Belém hit a great ball. The Amarante FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Lusos Crew were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
