The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alcides Gomes charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alcides Gomes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 2nd match minute, Leça da Palmeira F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alcides Gomes to maneuver through the defense. 3 minutes into the game, LaZuli's Evaristo Moreno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Durval Liberato made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 7 minutes of play, LaZuli's Evaristo Moreno made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Durval Liberato was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Evaristo Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Durval Liberato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Liberato in the 11th minute of play. Durval Liberato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zachariasz Dunajski, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute Zachariasz Dunajski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Durval Liberato saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Durval Liberato stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evaristo Moreno's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Durval Liberato had in the 21stth minute some difficulties stopping Henrique Durães's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Durval Liberato made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andaç Camcı in the 26th minute of play. When David Liberato came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the LaZuli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Liberato couldn't finish the play. Salvador Nogueira charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Salvador Nogueira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. LaZuli's Jesualdo Fraga was substituted for Evaristo Moreno. 40 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when LaZuli's Henrique Durães fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. In the 43rd minute, Jesualdo Fraga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vladimiro Matias to make the kick off. If Mariano Galvão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jesualdo Fraga succeeded in the game's 59th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-4. In the 62nd minute, Andaç Camcı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 70thth minute of the game Vladimiro Matias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LaZuli's Jorge Infante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jesualdo Fraga took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Durval Liberato. Durval Liberato dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. With a little luck, Leça da Palmeira F.C's Durval Liberato got control of the ball when David Liberato tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jorge Infante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimiro Matias in the 81st minute of the match. Zeferino Ramos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leça da Palmeira F.C's Vladimiro Matias got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Leça da Palmeira F.C getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Paulino Lage hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Jesualdo Fraga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LaZuli fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. When the final whistle sounded LaZuli left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Leça da Palmeira F.C.
