Dragon Blue's Sandro Soveral got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miguel Veloso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Quadros having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Ruas in the 28th minute of play forced Dragon Blue's goalkeeper Afonso Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Ruas took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Afonso Quadros. Afonso Quadros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 32 played minutes Dragon Blue got a freekick which was hit by Matheus Nunes. Afonso Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Ruas in the 35th minute of play. Afonso Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gică Drumeș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Ruas in the 40th minute of play forced Dragon Blue's goalkeeper Afonso Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonso Quadros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Ruas, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Fernando Tinoco stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sandro Soveral's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Pablo Sarabia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sandro Soveral to strike the kick off in the second half. Afonso Quadros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernst Günther, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 minutes Dragon Blue's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Reginaldo Cordeiro who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Marialva S.C.'s Reginaldo Cordeiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Afonso Quadros despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 62nd minute Miguel Veloso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ernst Günther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Dragon Blue booed when Marialva S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Oskar Drewitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Lencastre's late challenge caught a Dragon Blue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Lencastre helped the player get up and apologised. 75 minutes into the match, Ernst Günther had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonso Quadros. Dragon Blue's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernst Günther was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in Dragon Blue's zone, Pablo Sarabia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Afonso Quadros came out of the goal and Pablo Sarabia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Dragon Blue booed when Marialva S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Veloso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Marialva S.C.'s Ricardo Quaresma got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 92nd minute Ernst Günther shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandro Soveral's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Fernando Tinoco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. André Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
