União Caparica's Sidónio Maltez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ferenc van Nistelrooij in the 13th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Filipe Pimenta got free with Sidónio Maltez in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 30th minute, Albert Karapetkov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The União Caparica fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 35 played minutes União Caparica got a freekick which was hit by António Viegas. In the 43rd minute of the match Hélder Quintas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yusuf Ziya Sertaç skillfully saved the ball. S.João de Areias's Yusuf Ziya Sertaç played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Horta in the 45th minute of play. Zeferino Avelar hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Albert Karapetkov made the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes S.João de Areias got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Pimenta. After 54 played minutes, União Caparica's Zeferino Avelar shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Yusuf Ziya Sertaç came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in União Caparica reached it. Ferenc van Nistelrooij fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidónio Maltez having to interfere. Yusuf Ziya Sertaç took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Horta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Albert Karapetkov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Yusuf Ziya Sertaç made a huge save. If Fatih Tekke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The long shot by António Viegas in the 79th minute really tested Yusuf Ziya Sertaç's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to União Caparica getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Jorge Pais hit a great ball. Tobias Infante made in the 81st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Hélder Quintas immediately put the ball in play. Sidónio Maltez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fatih Tekke in the 83rd minute of the match. In the 86th match minute, S.João de Areias was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teófilo Pinto to maneuver through the defense. The União Caparica fans' excitement grew in the 87th match minute when União Caparica's Artur Horta looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to União Caparica getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Tobias Infante hit a great ball.
