In the 4th minute Luisão Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olívio Zambujal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 5 minutes into the game, Horácio Fontoura was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GD Serra da Vila's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alheira FC the free kick. Virgílio Meira hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Vaggelis Kotsalos came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by GD Serra da Vila's Alberto-José Guine. But to his dismay, Alberto-José Guine quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Luisão Romero took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Olívio Zambujal. Olívio Zambujal dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Luisão Romero did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-1 to the left of a surprised Olívio Zambujal 18 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisão Romero in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olívio Zambujal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisão Romero got free with Olívio Zambujal in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 26th minute, Tiago Quintela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiago Quintela hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Virgílio Meira hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. GD Serra da Vila's Olívio Zambujal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Romero in the 35th minute of play. After 37 minutes GD Serra da Vila's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adelino Gusmão who took care of the corner kick. Olívio Zambujal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisão Romero, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nicolau Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Virgílio Meira hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Nicolau Simões had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olívio Zambujal. GD Serra da Vila's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nicolau Simões was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luisão Romero was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Alheira FC booed when GD Serra da Vila was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgílio Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisão Romero in the 52nd minute of play forced GD Serra da Vila's goalkeeper Olívio Zambujal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Luisão Romero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olívio Zambujal. GD Serra da Vila's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luisão Romero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. The Alheira FC fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Alheira FC's Luisão Romero looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Almiro Zarco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Vaggelis Kotsalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, GD Serra da Vila's Almiro Zarco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vaggelis Kotsalos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 82 minutes into the match, Alheira FC's goalkeeper Vaggelis Kotsalos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto-José Guine. After some careless play in the GD Serra da Vila defense, Cassiano Gusmão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olívio Zambujal. The GD Serra da Vila fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olívio Zambujal should have stopped the shot. GD Serra da Vila made a substitution. Eduardo Recife replaced Johannes Bartlett. In a very dangerous position, a player in GD Serra da Vila fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! Cassiano Gusmão's late challenge caught a GD Serra da Vila's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cassiano Gusmão helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd match minute, Alheira FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cassiano Gusmão to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th minute, Luisão Romero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Alheira FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 10-1.
