The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ademar Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Magno Dias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Qiu Chuan Ran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Patrício's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Faria came free, but Ademar Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube Patrício's Magno Dias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Qiu Chuan Ran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Magno Dias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Qiu Chuan Ran was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Ventura in the 35th minute of play forced Sporting Clube Patrício's goalkeeper Ademar Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute Tomás Portugal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Chuan Ran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Qiu Chuan Ran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zarco Lameiras, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
