In the 33rd minute Hermínio Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Januário Rangel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, one of SC Serrinho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The supporters of MEXACOMX booed when SC Serrinho was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timóteo Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. MEXACOMX's Kjetil-André Grønseth couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Serrinho. After a rather tough play, MEXACOMX's Mo Feng Xiang got a free kick in the 44th minute. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 92 minutes MEXACOMX's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristóvão Rebelo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Cristóvão Rebelo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Januário Rangel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 94th minute Fidel Veronica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Januário Rangel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MEXACOMX's Januário Rangel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristóvão Rebelo in the 97th minute of play. When the match was over SC Serrinho could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than MEXACOMX throughout the match.
