The Ilkeston fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When the match clock showed 12 minutes, the score became 0-2 when James Little sped through Croston's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jon Bull. If Calum Rice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilkeston's Jacob Meehan got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ilkeston booed when Croston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dom Eubank didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jon Bull stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of James Little's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. In the 36th match minute, Croston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elisha Mansfield to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th match minute, Croston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddie Lewington to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Jacob Meehan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jacob Meehan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Jon Bull when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Croston's Elisha Mansfield got a free kick in the 88th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Ilkeston's Antony Collingwood tried to score from far away in the 89th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Jacob Meehan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
