Autocares Vázquez Olmedo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darius McRaild was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Gomersal AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kiera Archer came free, but Mateo Romo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the game, Zak Boulton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Mateo Romo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darius McRaild in the 20th minute of play forced Gomersal AFC's goalkeeper Mateo Romo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mateo Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pierce Hurdle, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Jude Taylor hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. 34 minutes into the match, Gomersal AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kiera Archer came free, but Mateo Romo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Pierce Hurdle notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Gomersal AFC's Mateo Romo. Mateo Romo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 44 minutes into the match, Gomersal AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Pierce Hurdle came free, but Mateo Romo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darius McRaild took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mateo Romo. Mateo Romo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Mateo Romo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zak Boulton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Mateo Romo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Gomersal AFC's Mateo Romo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Gomersal AFC from getting a goal against them. Pierce Hurdle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mateo Romo came out and tried to block the shot, but Pierce Hurdle slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 64th minute. Gomersal AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Kiera Archer scored to the left of an out of position Mateo Romo, making the score, 0-8. After a rather tough play, Autocares Vázquez Olmedo's Kiera Archer got a free kick in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the game, Archie Vine was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gomersal AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Autocares Vázquez Olmedo the free kick. Autocares Vázquez Olmedo's Victor Wiltshire was substituted for Zak Boulton. After 78 played minutes Gomersal AFC got a freekick which was hit by Archie Vine. Mateo Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darius McRaild, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. The supporters of Gomersal AFC booed when Autocares Vázquez Olmedo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shane Rice didn't get a good kick on the ball.
