Spectators: 10876 (Terracing: 8158, Seating: 2501, VIP seats: 217) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Alan da Fonseca got the match started through his kick off. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ballymoney Athletic's goalkeeper Frankie Cardwell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Cheadle fans' excitement grew in the 10th match minute when Cheadle's Alan da Fonseca looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 14th minute, Cheadle's Rhys Bibby dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Keith Abbotts kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Frankie Cardwell came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Cheadle's Alan da Fonseca. But to his dismay, Alan da Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Thanks to some nice moves Terry Mayfield could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Frankie Cardwell however easily saved by the left post. In the 26th minute, Alan da Fonseca reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Frankie Cardwell. The goal made the score 5-0. In the 30th minute, Ballymoney Athletic's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Mikael Rolandsson fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 35 minutes into the game, Charles Keane was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballymoney Athletic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cheadle the free kick. 34 minutes into the game, one of Ballymoney Athletic:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Frankie Cardwell, was totally fooled by Cheadle's Terry Mayfield, who 36 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Frankie Cardwell came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Cheadle's Alan da Fonseca. But to his dismay, Alan da Fonseca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. After 43 minutes, Rich Pennant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballymoney Athletic and the Cheadle players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rich Pennant kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 7-0 at half-time.

Rhys Bibby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Frankie Cardwell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ballymoney Athletic's Frankie Cardwell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan da Fonseca in the 56th minute of play. Keith Abbotts's late challenge caught a Cheadle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Keith Abbotts helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th minute, Keith Abbotts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frankie Cardwell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alan da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Ballymoney Athletic's Sid Legg got a free kick in the 68th minute. Frankie Cardwell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhys Bibby, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. If Alan da Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 75 minutes into the match, Rhys Bibby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frankie Cardwell. Ballymoney Athletic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rhys Bibby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0. The supporters of Cheadle booed when Ballymoney Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rich Pennant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute, Rhys Bibby got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Alan da Fonseca notched a goal, 10-0, to the right of Ballymoney Athletic's Frankie Cardwell. Frankie Cardwell was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 87th minute, one of Ballymoney Athletic:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ballymoney Athletic. Terry Mayfield walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Rhys Bibby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rich Pennant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip Woodhall having to interfere. If Rhys Bibby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Ballymoney Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when Alan da Fonseca came free, but Frankie Cardwell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cheadle fully deserved thier win.
