Ali Vedat Kabataş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Marcus King tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marcus King made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Kris Jewson sent off a good shot on target. If Tony Stone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute Geoff McParland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ray Folwill saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Stone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ray Folwill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciarán Jones in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Nottingham Forest were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kris Jewson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ray Folwill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciarán Jones in the 55th minute of the match. Tony Stone scored 0-5 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ray Folwill, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 59 minutes into the match, Tony Stone notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of Garstang AFC's Ray Folwill. Ray Folwill was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Geoff McParlands short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Ray Folwill to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 63 played minutes Garstang AFC got a freekick which was hit by Golo Kante. In the 64th minute, Ciarán Jones got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tony Stone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Ray Folwill made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-7. Nottingham Forest's Marcus King played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kris Jewson in the 71st minute of play. 90 minutes into the match, Miles Mabbutt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ray Folwill. Garstang AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Miles Mabbutt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-8. Tony Stone could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Ray Folwill made a huge save. Ray Folwill showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ciarán Jones, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Tony Stone could shoot a difficult shot in the 96th minute, which Ray Folwill however easily saved by the left post. The Nottingham Forest players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
