The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Árni Sigmarsson managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Númi Hrísey's Ölver Almarsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 21st minute, Engilbert Þrándsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Árni Sigmarsson managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Númi Hrísey's Ölver Almarsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 32nd match minute, Ísfang Akranesi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bergmann Jafetsson to maneuver through the defense. Rósmann Eiðsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ölver Almarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Árni Sigmarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hjarnar Másson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Árni Sigmarsson having to interfere. Árni Sigmarsson made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Ölver Almarsson sent off a good shot on target. If Hjarnar Másson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th match minute, Númi Hrísey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gregor Ármannsson to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Engilbert Þrándsson to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Númi Hrísey's Ölver Almarsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Árni Sigmarsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Kaldi Loftsson charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kaldi Loftsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 58th minute, Kaldi Loftsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ölver Almarsson in the 61st minute of play forced Ísfang Akranesi's goalkeeper Árni Sigmarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Númi Hrísey's Dagur Skorrason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bjarnleifur Hermansson in the 64th minute of play. Rósmann Eiðsson's late challenge caught a Ísfang Akranesi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rósmann Eiðsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, Rósmann Eiðsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute of the match Bergmann Jafetsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dagur Skorrason showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 69 minutes of play, Ísfang Akranesi's Krister Bergmansson made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dagur Skorrason was left in no man's land by his defense there! Árni Sigmarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rósmann Eiðsson in the 75th minute of the match. Bergmann Jafetsson hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Númi Hrísey's Kaldi Loftsson got his second yellow card of the match in the 79th minute. The referee ordered Kaldi Loftsson off the ground. The supporters of Ísfang Akranesi booed when Númi Hrísey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kaldi Loftsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Ísfang Akranesi getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Krister Bergmansson hit a great ball. Hjarnar Másson kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Bergmann Jafetsson struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Dagur Skorrason didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ísfang Akranesi. In the 91st minute, Ölver Almarsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ölver Almarsson in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Árni Sigmarsson saved Ísfang Akranesi from getting behind. 94 minutes into the match, Hjarnar Másson notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Ísfang Akranesi's Árni Sigmarsson. Árni Sigmarsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Númi Hrísey fully deserved thier win.
