Ölver Almarsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Engilbjartur Fannarsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Hamar Olgeirsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dagur Skorrason having to interfere. In the 14th match minute, Númi Hrísey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristlaugur Atlason to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Valur Hrísey getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Alfred Ófeigsson hit a great ball. Hamar Olgeirsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Ölver Almarsson put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Engilbjartur Fannarsson. 32 minutes into the game, Ölver Almarsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Engilbjartur Fannarsson. Ölver Almarsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Reidar Guðbergsson hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. A collision led to Númi Hrísey getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Edward Gunnarsson hit a great ball. After having played for 43 minutes, Arnsteinn Hilmarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valur Hrísey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnsteinn Hilmarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valur Hrísey's goalkeeper Engilbjartur Fannarsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Stefnir Darrason made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Númi Hrísey getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Reidar Guðbergsson hit a great ball. Dagur Skorrason made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Hamar Olgeirsson sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Ölver Almarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Númi Hrísey's supporters rose to their feet, but Ölver Almarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Engilbjartur Fannarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ölver Almarsson struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Engilbjartur Fannarsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Númi Hrísey. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ölver Almarsson in the 63rd minute of play forced Valur Hrísey's goalkeeper Engilbjartur Fannarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valur Hrísey's Engilbjartur Fannarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hjarnar Másson in the 64th minute of play. When Ölver Almarsson came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Númi Hrísey fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ölver Almarsson couldn't finish the play. If Kristlaugur Atlason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Engilbjartur Fannarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristlaugur Atlason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hamar Olgeirsson got free with Dagur Skorrason in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 87th minute, Stefnir Darrason hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Engilbjartur Fannarsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ölver Almarsson went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Númi Hrísey fully deserved thier win.
