When the match clock showed 11 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Steinmar Reynisson sped through Antik Kópaskeri's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ormur Ingólfsson. 15 minutes into the match, Antik Kópaskeri's goal looked a bit too open when Steinmar Reynisson came free, but Ormur Ingólfsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oddmar Skaptason kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Ensku Hnífarnir's Ástbjörn Ottósson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ormur Ingólfsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Ormur Ingólfsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Steinmar Reynisson's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute Ástbjörn Ottósson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ormur Ingólfsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ormur Ingólfsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ástbjörn Ottósson, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Antik Kópaskeri's Sigurlinni Harðarson got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steinmar Reynisson in the 46th minute of play forced Antik Kópaskeri's goalkeeper Ormur Ingólfsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ástbjörn Ottósson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Ormur Ingólfsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The wind increased when Steinmar Reynisson made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Ensku Hnífarnir's Ormur Ingólfsson threw himself towards the right post 56 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ástbjörn Ottósson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 57 minutes, Ögmundur Kristinsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Antik Kópaskeri and the Ensku Hnífarnir players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ögmundur Kristinsson hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. When Ástbjörn Ottósson came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Ensku Hnífarnir fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ástbjörn Ottósson couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the match, Antik Kópaskeri's goalkeeper Ormur Ingólfsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steinmar Reynisson. Oddmar Skaptason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steinmar Reynisson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Ormur Ingólfsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Steinmar Reynisson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ormur Ingólfsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. If Oddmar Skaptason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 87th minute by Steinmar Reynisson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 90th minute, Oddmar Skaptason got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Friðleifur Sæmundsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sigurlinni Harðarson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle sounded Ensku Hnífarnir left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Antik Kópaskeri.
