Spectators: 9299 (Terracing: 6976, Seating: 2138, VIP seats: 185) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Grímólfur Hamarsson kicked off to start the match. Steinn Snæfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Max Níelsson in the 5th minute of play. After having played for 6 minutes, Grímólfur Hamarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jets's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grímólfur Hamarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emeryci's Ymir Leifsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rögnvar Svangeirsson in the 9th minute of play. After 17 minutes, Rögnvar Svangeirsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jets and the Emeryci players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jets's Rögnvar Svangeirsson got a free kick in the 17th minute. If Grímólfur Hamarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 20 minutes of play Jets's Rögnvar Svangeirsson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Rögnvar Svangeirsson hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. A collision led to Emeryci getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Bragi Garðarsson hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Grímólfur Hamarsson in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ymir Leifsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Emeryci's Kormákur Margrímsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Steinn Snæfinnsson. That made the score 1-0 after 28 minutes of play. Grímólfur Hamarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ymir Leifsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Max Níelsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Steinn Snæfinnsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vígsteinn Indriðason's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Jets's Steinn Snæfinnsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kormákur Margrímsson in the 58th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Emeryci's goal looked a bit too open when Grímólfur Hamarsson came free, but Ymir Leifsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Grímólfur Hamarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 minutes of play, Emeryci's Kormákur Margrímsson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Steinn Snæfinnsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Max Níelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Grímólfur Hamarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jets's supporters rose to their feet, but Grímólfur Hamarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ymir Leifsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Jets's zone, Max Níelsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steinn Snæfinnsson came out of the goal and Max Níelsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 82 minutes into the match, Emeryci's goalkeeper Ymir Leifsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grímólfur Hamarsson. In the 86th minute of the match Jets got a corner. Emeryci's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Grímólfur Hamarsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. With his leg Ymir Leifsson managed to avoid a goal in the 88thth minute, when Jets's Grímólfur Hamarsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Jets defense, Max Níelsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Steinn Snæfinnsson. The Jets fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Steinn Snæfinnsson should have stopped the shot.
