Cayetano Atarratze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Skafti Hermansson having to interfere. If Auðbergur Gretarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Auðbergur Gretarsson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 9th minute. Task Mývatni's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 11th match minute, Víkingur Æskulýðsskólinn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sigmundur Baugsson to maneuver through the defense. Maron Brynjólfsson made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Walter Snæbjörnsson sent off a good shot on target. Skafti Hermansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Coelho in the 21st minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Task Mývatni's goal looked a bit too open when Fábio Coelho came free, but Skafti Hermansson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Víkingur Æskulýðsskólinn's Maron Brynjólfsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walter Snæbjörnsson in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Víkingur Æskulýðsskólinn getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Sigmundur Baugsson hit a great ball. Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Maron Brynjólfsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Task Mývatni. In the 45th minute, Walter Snæbjörnsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maron Brynjólfsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 48th minute, Walter Snæbjörnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Task Mývatni's Sandur Júlíansson got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When Task Mývatni's Auðbergur Gretarsson in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Víkingur Æskulýðsskólinn's goalie prevented a goal. Maron Brynjólfsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st match minute, Víkingur Æskulýðsskólinn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Atarratze to maneuver through the defense. Walter Snæbjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Task Mývatni's Skafti Hermansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Þyrnir Oddsson in the 64th minute of play. Max Tryggvason hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Snæbjörnsson in the 77th minute of play forced Víkingur Æskulýðsskólinn's goalkeeper Maron Brynjólfsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Task Mývatni booed when Víkingur Æskulýðsskólinn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingberg Rafnkelsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stefnir Hjartarsson hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Maron Brynjólfsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walter Snæbjörnsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Auðbergur Gretarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Maron Brynjólfsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hildibrandur Hallbjörnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Auðbergur Gretarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Task Mývatni's Skafti Hermansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Task Mývatni from getting a goal against them. There was no doubt that Task Mývatni were the better team. Task Mývatni's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
