When Lewis Dempsey came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Grogagh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lewis Dempsey couldn't finish the play. After 9 played minutes Grogagh got a freekick which was hit by Benedict Hughes. Grogagh's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Phelan Johnson 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Lewis Dempsey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Phelan Johnson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Liam Barrett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Phelan Johnson in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás McWillie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 32nd minute Braedon Ryan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caroll Rutherford saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd match minute, Myrtlegrove was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Barrett to maneuver through the defense. Myrtlegrove's Caroll Rutherford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braedon Ryan in the 33rd minute of play. If Liam Barrett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Caroll Rutherford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lewis Dempsey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Braedon Ryan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caroll Rutherford having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Benedict Hughes fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grogagh's protests and gave Benedict Hughes a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Myrtlegrove booed when Grogagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedict Hughes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Bradley Ghee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grogagh's supporters rose to their feet, but Bradley Ghee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Caroll Rutherford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lewis Dempsey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caroll Rutherford having to interfere. After 75 minutes of play, Myrtlegrove's Liam Barrett made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomás McWillie was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lewis Dempsey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Caroll Rutherford read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Braedon Ryan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Caroll Rutherford didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 88th minute, which inside left pole to 2-4. Tomás McWillie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phelan Johnson in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Myrtlegrove's goalkeeper Caroll Rutherford, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The Myrtlegrove fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Grogagh were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
