Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Kealan Grant got the match started through his kick off. In the 4th minute, Finnigan Ramsey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballybrew fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Kealan Grant succeeded in the game's 7th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. In the 9th match minute, Ballydaly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip McCollion to maneuver through the defense. When Kealan Grant came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Ballybrew fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kealan Grant couldn't finish the play. Barnaby Caffey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Declan MaCollin in the 13th minute. Kealan Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bran Scully showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finnigan Ramsey in the 17th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Kealan Grant notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Ballydaly's Bran Scully. Bran Scully was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pierson Duggan's late challenge caught a Ballydaly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pierson Duggan helped the player get up and apologised. After 26 played minutes Ballybrew got a freekick which was hit by Pierson Duggan. Bran Beckett charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bran Beckett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bran Beckett kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. A collision led to Ballydaly getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Boddibevve Matthews hit a great ball. Raonall Coyle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Barnaby Caffey made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Teagan McJohn during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ballydaly booed when Ballybrew was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teagan McJohn didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes in the game, Boddibevve Matthews fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Barnaby Caffey having to interfere. In the 46th minute Boddibevve Matthews shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barnaby Caffey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Ballybrew were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After some careless play in the Ballydaly defense, Kealan Grant kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bran Scully. The Ballydaly fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bran Scully should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd minute, Boddibevve Matthews left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballydaly fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Declan MaCollin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Barnaby Caffey having to make a save. Kealan Grant in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bran Scully, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Barnaby Caffey came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Ballydaly's Raonall Coyle. But to his dismay, Raonall Coyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. After having played for 89 minutes, Teagan McJohn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballybrew's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teagan McJohn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pierson Duggan was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 93 minutes into the match. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ballybrew! The Ballybrew supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ballybrew would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
