Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ballydaly's Boddibevve Matthews started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Royan Harkin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Benson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 6th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bran Scully. Ballydaly's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Barreen's Breandan Molloy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Royan Harkin in the 9th minute of play. When Raonall Coyle came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Ballydaly fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Raonall Coyle couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Barreen's Caroll O'Brien got a free kick in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Ballydaly's Boddibevve Matthews sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Breandan Molloy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Boddibevve Matthews in the 21st minute of play forced Barreen's goalkeeper Breandan Molloy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 30 minutes of play Barreen's Caroll O'Brien was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Barreen getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Caroll O'Brien hit a great ball. Beairtle McFrancise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bran Scully having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Raonall Coyle made a precise shot to the right of Breandan Molloy. Barreen's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Barreen's zone, Boddibevve Matthews stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Breandan Molloy came out of the goal and Boddibevve Matthews tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Beairtle McFrancise to strike the kick off in the second half. Boddibevve Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61stth minute of the game Artuir Horgan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Barreen's Breandan Molloy was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 62nd minute, Artuir Horgan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ballydaly fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Beairtle McFrancises short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Bran Scully to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Raonall Coyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 83 minutes, Boddibevve Matthews managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballydaly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Boddibevve Matthews was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bodibeua Cooney got in the 85th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Breandan Molloy handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 93 minutes into the match, Ballydaly's Boddibevve Matthews sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Breandan Molloy narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barreen's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
