In the 9th minute, Tyrone Murphy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Bragain Caffrey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Harry McNamara was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. Harry McNamara came out of the goal and Coran McSteven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Bat McWilliam made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bragain Caffrey in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Harry McNamara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Patton McCollion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tyrone Murphy in the 58th minute of play forced Drommartin AFC's goalkeeper Harry McNamara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harry McNamara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyrone Murphy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
