Beacan McLaughlin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Briain Grant in the 18th minute. Bresal Lavine's late challenge caught a Ballyshane's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bresal Lavine helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Drommartin AFC getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Bresal Lavine hit a great ball. Riley Coyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 22nd match minute, Drommartin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basil Matthews to maneuver through the defense. When Riley Coyle came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Ballyshane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Riley Coyle couldn't finish the play. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ballyshane! In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Drommartin AFC. Brendanus Sheridan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Beacan McLaughlin. 1-0. Ballyshane's Kevis McMichel pulled a muscle in his leg after 30 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bil MaCollin during the 30th minute. Beacan McLaughlin was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After having played for 69 minutes, Bat McWilliam managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Drommartin AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bat McWilliam was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Riley Coyle took a quick shot and it went in 3-1 without a chance for Harry McNamara to make any attempt to save it. 3-2 became the score in the 77th minute when Riley Coyle elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Ron Beckett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Harry McNamara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Drommartin AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
