Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tyrone Murphy kicked off to start the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antaine Branson during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Laban getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Antaine Branson hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Laban's Bragain Caffrey slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Troy McPhilip. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. Fachtna Savic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beary McPhil, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 20 minutes into the game, Robert Dempsey was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballyteige Utd's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laban the free kick. A collision led to Ballyteige Utd getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Robert Dempsey hit a great ball. Bragain Caffrey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Troy McPhilip tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Ballyteige Utd's goalkeeper Troy McPhilip had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tyrone Murphy. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bragain Caffrey in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Troy McPhilip saved Ballyteige Utd from getting behind. Antaine Branson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Troy McPhilip made a huge save. After 29 minutes, Séamus O'Keefe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ballyteige Utd and the Laban players grew even worse after the yellow card. Séamus O'Keefe kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Bragain Caffrey reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Troy McPhilip. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 34th match minute, Ballyteige Utd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beary McPhil to maneuver through the defense. Tyrone Murphy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Troy McPhilip having to interfere. Tyrone Murphy struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Troy McPhilip didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laban. Séamus O'Keefe kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Patton McCollion hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. George Barrett took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fachtna Savic. Laban's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Ballyteige Utd's goalkeeper Troy McPhilip had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tyrone Murphy. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robert Dempsey made a kick off. Troy McPhilip showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bragain Caffrey, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Troy McPhilip came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Laban's Patton McCollion. But to his dismay, Patton McCollion quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. The supporters of Ballyteige Utd booed when Laban was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Balor Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bragain Caffrey blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Troy McPhilip having to make a save. Bragain Caffrey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Troy McPhilip tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Ballyteige Utd got a freekick which was hit by Robert Dempsey. A collision led to Laban getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Balor Holt hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bragain Caffrey in the 80th minute of play forced Ballyteige Utd's goalkeeper Troy McPhilip to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Troy McPhilip showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antaine Branson in the 84th minute of the match. In the 89th minute Patton McCollion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Troy McPhilip saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tyrone Murphy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Troy McPhilip having to interfere. Laban walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
