After 10 minutes, Baodan McFrank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Drommartin AFC and the Lismore FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Baodan McFrank kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute Bat McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph McLian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bat McWilliam received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Joseph McLian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Lismore FC booed when Drommartin AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barra O'Brien didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bresal Lavine's late challenge caught a Lismore FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bresal Lavine helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st match minute, Drommartin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bresal Lavine to maneuver through the defense. Lismore FC's Joseph McLian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Briain Grant in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lismore FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Brendanus Sheridan was slow to take the kick. During this time Drommartin AFC's players had a chance to rest. Brendanus Sheridan made a great header on Drommartin AFC's corner, it was just that Lismore FC's Joseph McLian managed to reach the ball for a save. When Berrigan McVictor fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lismore FC's protests and gave Berrigan McVictor a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Drommartin AFC's zone, Berrigan McVictor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harry McNamara came out of the goal and Berrigan McVictor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Doney Taylor struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Harry McNamara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lismore FC. In the 47th minute, Basil Matthews hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Doney Taylor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Lismore FC got a freekick which was hit by Taveon McJohn. When Taveon McJohn fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lismore FC's protests and gave Taveon McJohn a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lismore FC's goalkeeper Joseph McLian, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 63rd minute, Lismore FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Briain Grant fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Briain Grant fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph McLian having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, Lismore FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Taveon McJohn to maneuver through the defense. Briain Grant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pearse McAlphie hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lismore FC's zone, Basil Matthews stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph McLian came out of the goal and Basil Matthews tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 79 minutes, Doney Taylor made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Drommartin AFC's Harry McNamara tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Lismore FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Taveon McJohn hit a great ball. Pearse McAlphie hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Briain Grant received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Joseph McLian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Drommartin AFC's Beale McPaul got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lismore FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Drommartin AFC for a fine match.
